A Letter from Jordan

Hi! My name is Jordan, a country girl raised in Oklahoma who enjoys anything associated with the wilderness. For the past seven years I have worked as a counselor serving individuals diagnosed with chronic mental illness or traumatic brain injuries. I am a Licensed Graduate Counselor who enjoys working with individuals to better understand their experience and overcome difficult times. As an EDMR and DBT trained therapist I believe that our childhood has a profound effect on our behaviors as well as how we perceive the world. If you are looking for a therapist that uses a client centered approach then we would be a good match.

While in graduate school at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. My thesis focused on individuals with chronic mental illness and the effects of group homes. In 2021, I presented at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology Conference on Stress and International Athletes' Performance. My interest in this was born out of my experiences playing volleyball in college and later coaching young ladies. I saw first- hand the strong impact the need for high performance has on general stress but also mental health and academic performance. This is my is my current area of clinical focus, especially as related to traumatic experiences and complex childhood to young adult trauma. I also enjoy working with folks experiencing depression, anxiety and phobias.

With my work experience as well as personal experiences with mental health I understand how debilitating symptoms can be. I strive to help others understand that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and guide you through, as long as you are ready to put in the work! I can’t wait to meet you :-)
